Mixed Chorus is a mixed voice beginning to intermediate choir for 7th and 8th grade students. No prerequisite is needed. This is an all-around fun general choral experience for those who have sung in a choir before or beginners. Students will learn to sing and perform two and three-part songs in different musical genres. Students will also learn basic music notation and theory.
Here is the sightsinging example for next week's assessment. Please practice both the rhythm (clapping and counting with ta, ti, etc.) and the pitch (singing and showing the solfege syllables DO, RE, MI, and so forth). When it is your turn to test, remember you will have 30 seconds to review the rhythms and then 30 seconds to review the pitches. Please let me know if have questions or concerns. Good luck!! The first pitch and the last pitch in this example are the solfege syllable DO.
Class Music Practice Tools
These are warmups we use in class. Please feel free to use them to practice and warmup at home!
Here are voice parts and accompaniment recordings of the music we are learning in class. Find your voice part on each of the songs and you can practice singing along with the notes being played or sung. If you know your part, you can sing along with the accompaniment!
